Chamberlain was the sole child of divorced parents. Chamberlain claimed that despite the fact she was born in the city's affluent city, her family had a difficult time financially during her early years. The family relied on commissions from her father's artwork and, when he became ill and unable to paint the family went through "hard moments". She was a student at Central Middle School, San Carlos, California and Notre Dame High School Belmont. The school was an all-girls Catholic preparatory school is where she took part in cheerleading and track. For five years she was a cheerleader as well as was a part of the California All Stars Pink cheer team. 10 years old, she left high school in the second semester of her junior year.
