BellamyBellamy Young was born Amy Maria Young in the month of February, 1970."1" She's an American performer, actress also known as producer, actor, and singer best known for her portrayal of Melody "Mellie," Grant in ABC's Scandal, 2012-2018. She won the Critics' Choice Television Award for the Most Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Drama Series in 2014. The actress also appeared in the Fox series Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young started her career as an actor as a theatre actor. Her Broadway debut in the year 1997 as Mary in The Life's original line-up. Alongside making her Broadway debut, she has played Mary off Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily You Roll Along (1994) or Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). The year 1995 was the year she made her television debut with a role that she reprised in the NBC daytime soap the show Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. In two episodes, she appeared of Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. In 1999 she made her film debut by playing one small part in the crime-drama Black and White and later co-starred in several independent films. Her first guest appearances on assortment of television dramas as well as comedy shows in the late 2000s. These comprised The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Between 2000 and 2011 Young had more than 30 guest appearances on TV shows.
